$50.00

Black Wood USA’s wood rail panel sets are a great addition to your AR-15, AR-10 or other pistol/rifle with an MLOK or KEYMOD rail. Each rail panel starts as one piece of lumber and is first cut on a CNC machine and then shaped, sanded and sealed by hand. This combination of man and machine production enables the highest level of precision with an unbeatable hand finish.

Our finishing process highlights the natural grain and color of the wood while protecting it  to increase durability. This ensures that our rail panels will perform to the modern sportsman/woman’s standards and hold their classic look.

About The Wood

English Walnut is a classic hardwood that has been used in firearms production for centuries. Its colors range from blonde to dark brown with most pieces having little color variation. The Wood Database rates its Janka Hardness at 1,220 lb.

No two pieces of lumber are alike and neither are our grip panels. We take pride in the unique patterns and colors found in each of our grip panels and know that you'll love the way the wood complements your firearm. Please note therefore, that the pieces you receive may not look exactly like those shown in the images.

About Our Collections

Every piece of wood we use is unique. However, to help ensure that the furniture on your rifle provides a uniform aesthetic, we do our best to match all wood furniture pieces within the same wood type. For example, you can rest assured that our Walnut (or Rosewood, Zebrawood, etc) Stock, Grip and Rail Panels will all look great together on your weapon.

Rail panels w/handstop

As a Carpenter by trade I have an appreciation for woodcraft but view others work with a critical eye. The Black Wood products were crafted with attention to detail and will look good and feel great on my build. Glad I could support another woodworker.

Great Product!

From the packaging to the hand written note to the product itself, everything about these panels says "quality" and that the manufacturer has a passion for what they do. I was impressed so much I purchased a second set.

Installed these panels on an M-lok free float rail on my AR-15. They match almost perfectly (which was to be expected with wood) with my American Black Walnut stock a co-worker gave me. Installation was a breeze.

The only change (if possible) I would suggest is "recoil stops" on the back of panels to help prevent them from shifting/sliding like found on other M-lok accessories. However, being made from wood I'm not sure if this would be possible.

Over all, a wonderful product that helped finish up a year long+ build. Great work guys!

Black walnut rail covers

Received my rails a few days ago. They are the black walnut rails. I have not put them on a rail yet, but they look very nice. They have a nice smooth finish and nice color. Dimensionally each very similar, but with very slight variances on edges due to sanding. I plan on buying at least another set. I look forward to the pistol grips coming out to put on the same AR15s with the wood rails.

Walnut wood panel review

This is beautiful workmanship. Packaging shows a true affinity for their work also. My dumb ass ordered a size too large, but am going to tap and die my $300 rail because the wood panels look so good the way they are.

    Rail Panels Installation:

    1. Remove rail panels from packaging, leaving the hardware installed.

    2. Position each rail panel with KEYMOD nuts or MLOK T-Nuts through the corresponding rail slots and gently turn each bolt clockwise to lock panel in position.

    3. While applying light outward pressure on the rail panel, use the short end of the supplied allen wrench to tighten each screw until snug. Caution, do not overtighten screws!

    Care and Maintenance

Your rail panels are hand sealed with multiple layers of penetrating sealant. However, natural wood is not as strong as some plastics or aluminum and may be more susceptible to abrasion and scratches.
